One Earth Film Festival will return for its 13th year on March 6-10, 2024 -- and presents its 10th annual Earth Day celebration & screening on April 20, 2024 in continuing partnership with the City of Chicago Office of Climate & Environmental Equity.
One Earth Film Festival is the Midwest’s premier environmental film festival. It showcases top-issue, thought-provoking environmental films, leads audiences in interactive post-film discussions focused on solutions, and shares concrete actions people can take. One Earth Film Festival is a production of One Earth Collective.
One Earth Film Festival is based in Chicago, and also offers virtual programming to audience beyond the Midwest region. The Festival creates opportunities for understanding climate change, environmental justice, and the power of people through sustainability-themed films, facilitated discussion, and concrete opportunities for taking action. We engage private, public and non-profit sector community partners in the sponsorship and production of the film festival.
One Earth Film Festival has reached over 46,000 attendees since its inception in 2012. Our last festivals in March and April 2023 presented 28 short and feature length films (including winning entries from One Earth's Young Filmmakers Contest) and reached 4,500 viewers in the Chicago region, throughout the United States, and around the world. This year’s festival promises to once again showcase acclaimed environmental justice films, filmmakers and environmental justice activists -- and to expand its reach, attendance and impact.
